Andrew, Ben, Oliver and I raced at Glencoe Grand Prix (Glencoe GP) a 85km crit / 2.1km distance per lap in Chicago, IL. The Glencoe GP is a part of the Professional Road Tour (PRT) calendar and attracted strong competition with both professional and elite teams registered. We knew from previous results that a group usually laps up due to the wide range of talent, so our plan was to be super active at the front to ensure we were represented in any move. We took turns following attacks throughout the entire race and after about 75km we realized nothing was going to roll.

My teammate, Oliver has proven to be a threat with late-race attacks. We wanted to use his talents at this race so he initiated a late move/attack with 8 laps to go and went solo. This took all pressure off the rest of us to chase, and Oliver maintained a solid gap in front of the peloton. Other teams were forced to use up their riders to try and reel him in while we waited for the counter move and to setup for the sprint behind Holowesko. Oliver ended up getting caught with less than 1 lap to go putting me in the perfect position behind Andrew, my teammate for the leadout.

Andrew was essential to our podium here. He positioned me perfectly in the last few laps, keeping me out of the wind and gave me a clear shot at the final turn. I went through the turn a few wheels back on the outside line and ended up 3rd place. Andrew and Ben were both top-10 as well. After a few top-10s at PRT events, getting on the podium was fantastic and gave us a lot of confidence rolling into Armed Forces.
